I don’t think I will be ironing any more. The metal head does a better job on the hem of my denim skirts. I have used both the metal and the plastic. Then I decided to buy this steamer with the plastic head. So at first I bought the metal head and hose for this steamer. At that source they didn’t have the metal head available. Ag first I was going to buy from anther source. Wish it had a longer hose and a trigger to start and stop steam instead of it being on all the time until turned off. I did five panels of 84 inch curtains and still had about a quarter tank. But it will continue to work for quite a long time on just one thankful. The wood handle does get a bit hot after about 30 minutes of use. Once you turn it on, it' s ready to steam in 2 to 3 minutes. The five foot hose will not reach the top of the curtain unless you put the entire machine on a chair. Curtains just okay if they are already hung.
